Isaiah 63 (vv. 7-9)

The tone shifts from judgment to remembrance of the Lord’s compassion and covenant kindness. Israel recalls that the Lord called them his people, became their Savior, shared in their distress, and redeemed them in love and mercy. The image is tender and parental: the divine presence lifting up a weary people and carrying them through the days of old.
