Isaiah 59 (vv. 7-11)

The people reap the consequences of their crooked ways: justice is distant, peace is unknown, and even daylight feels like night. Men and women stumble along a wall as if blind, reaching out with anxious hands despite the sun being high overhead. Around them, the city is present but disoriented, and their faces carry grief, confusion, and exhaustion. The image embodies spiritual blindness and the despair of a society that cannot find righteousness or deliverance.

백성은 굽은 길의 결과를 거두고 있다. 정의는 멀고 평화는 알려지지 않았으며, 한낮의 빛조차 밤처럼 느껴진다. 남녀가 해가 높이 떠 있는 가운데서도 마치 눈먼 사람처럼 벽을 더듬으며 불안한 손을 뻗고 있다. 그들 주위에는 도시가 분명히 존재하지만 모든 것이 방향을 잃은 듯 보이고, 얼굴에는 슬픔과 혼란, 피로가 서려 있다. 이 이미지는 영적 눈멂과 의와 구원을 찾지 못하는 사회의 절망을 구현한다.
