Isaiah 50 (vv. 8-9)

The servant stands in confidence because the One who vindicates him is near. He calls for accusers to appear and confront him, yet their power is temporary; they will wear out like a garment consumed by moths. The scene evokes a legal challenge in which earthly accusation is dwarfed by divine advocacy. The dominant feeling is fearless assurance in the face of judgment.
