Isaiah 47 (vv. 14-15)

The final image shows Babylon’s trusted counselors and occult experts as powerless as dry stubble before a consuming blaze. The fire is not comforting but destructive, and none can save themselves or the city from what is coming. The scene closes with abandonment and desolation, as every false refuge fails and no rescuer remains.

마지막 장면에서 바벨론이 의지하던 조언자들과 주술의 대가들은 삼키는 불 앞의 마른 지푸라기처럼 무력하게 드러난다. 그 불은 따뜻함을 주는 불이 아니라 멸망을 가져오는 불이며, 누구도 자신이나 그 도성을 구하지 못한다. 모든 거짓 피난처가 무너지고 구원할 자가 하나도 남지 않은 채, 장면은 버려짐과 황폐함으로 끝난다.
