Isaiah 44 (vv. 1-4)

The LORD speaks comfort over Jacob and Israel, reminding them that he formed them and chose them. The central image is a parched land suddenly receiving abundant water, symbolizing the outpouring of God’s Spirit and blessing on future generations. What was barren begins to live again, and the descendants of Israel rise like fresh grass and tall poplars beside flowing streams.
