Isaiah 42 (vv. 16-17)

The LORD’s mercy and guidance are shown through a group of blind travelers being led along an unfamiliar path. The road begins in shadow and rough terrain but gradually becomes smooth and illuminated as divine light goes before them. Their hesitant steps turn into trust as obstacles are removed and darkness gives way to brightness. In contrast, idol worshipers linger behind with carved images that cannot save, shrinking back in shame as the true path opens before the vulnerable.

여호와의 자비와 인도하심은 낯선 길을 따라 이끌림 받는 눈먼 사람들의 무리를 통해 표현된다. 길은 처음에는 그림자와 험한 지형 속에서 시작되지만, 점차 앞서 가는 신적 빛으로 인해 평탄해지고 밝아진다. 더듬거리던 발걸음은 장애물이 치워지고 어둠이 밝음으로 바뀌면서 신뢰로 바뀐다. 그와 대조적으로 우상을 의지하던 사람들은 구원할 수 없는 새긴 형상들과 함께 뒤에 남아 수치를 당하며 물러난다. 참된 길은 연약한 자들 앞에 열려 있다.
