Isaiah 3 (vv. 16-24)

The women of Zion are first seen in their pride, walking with elegance, jewelry, perfume, and carefully arranged garments, delighting in display and status. Then the prophecy reverses their beauty: finery is removed, fragrance becomes stench, styled hair becomes baldness, rich clothing becomes sackcloth, and beauty gives way to shame. The scene should emphasize the contrast between luxury and humiliation, not through cruelty, but through symbolic loss and the fading of worldly splendor under judgment.

시온의 여인들은 먼저 교만 가운데 등장한다. 그들은 우아하게 걸으며 장신구와 향수, 정성껏 갖춘 의복으로 자신을 드러내고 신분을 과시한다. 그러나 예언은 곧 그 아름다움을 뒤집는다. 화려한 장식은 벗겨지고, 향기는 악취로 바뀌며, 꾸민 머리는 대머리가 되고, 값비싼 옷은 굵은 베옷으로 바뀌며, 아름다움은 수치가 된다. 이 장면은 잔혹함이 아니라 상징적인 상실과, 심판 아래 세속적 화려함이 사라지는 모습을 통해 사치와 굴욕의 대비를 강조해야 한다.
