Isaiah 24 (vv. 1-3)

The opening vision shows the LORD’s judgment sweeping across the whole earth, overturning every social distinction. Priests and common people, masters and servants, buyers and sellers, borrowers and lenders all stand on the same level as the land is stripped bare and its inhabitants are scattered. The scene emphasizes total upheaval: homes abandoned, roads emptying, and people from every class driven into uncertainty beneath the weight of a divine decree.

첫 장면은 주님의 심판이 온 땅을 휩쓸며 모든 사회적 구분을 뒤엎는 모습을 보여 준다. 제사장과 백성, 주인과 종, 사는 자와 파는 자, 빌리는 자와 꾸어 주는 자가 모두 같은 처지에 놓이고, 땅은 벗겨지듯 황폐해지며 주민들은 사방으로 흩어진다. 이 장면은 완전한 전복을 강조한다. 버려진 집들, 비어 가는 길들, 그리고 하나님의 선언의 무게 아래 모든 계층의 사람들이 불안 속으로 내몰리는 모습이 담겨 있다.
