Isaiah 14 (vv. 22-32)

The final scene gathers the chapter’s wider judgments and ends with Zion as the secure refuge of the afflicted. Babylon is reduced to desolation, Assyria is crushed, and Philistia trembles as smoke rises from the north. Yet above the fear and upheaval stands Zion, established by the LORD, where the poor and afflicted find safety. The image should hold both judgment and shelter in one frame.
