Isaiah 14 (vv. 4-8)

Israel raises a taunt over the fallen oppressor: the king of Babylon who once struck nations without mercy is now silenced. His rod and scepter, symbols of violent rule, lie shattered. The whole earth rests in peace, and even the trees of Lebanon seem to rejoice that no axe will come against them anymore. The scene captures the sudden reversal from tyranny to stillness.
