Isaiah 11 (vv. 1-2)

A seemingly dead stump identified with Jesse stands in a barren field, yet from its roots a fresh green shoot rises and begins to bear fruit. Above the Branch, the Spirit of the LORD is shown resting in radiant light, signifying wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, and reverent fear of the LORD. The image captures hope emerging from ruin and the beginning of a divinely appointed kingship.

이새를 상징하는 죽은 듯한 그루터기가 메마른 들판에 서 있지만, 그 뿌리에서 신선한 초록 새순이 돋아나 열매를 맺기 시작한다. 그 가지 위에는 여호와의 영이 찬란한 빛으로 머물러 있으며, 지혜와 총명, 모략과 권능, 지식과 여호와를 경외함을 나타낸다. 이 장면은 폐허 속에서 솟아나는 소망과 하나님께서 세우시는 왕권의 시작을 보여 준다.
