Description
Jerusalem is exposed as a once-faithful city corrupted by murder, bribery, and idolatry, compared to impure silver and diluted wine. Yet the LORD promises to turn His hand against her in order to purge away dross and restore righteous judges, so that Zion may again be called the Faithful City. The scene should combine purification by fire, the shame of fading idolatrous groves, and the emerging vision of a restored city of justice.
