Hosea 11 (vv. 10-11)

This final scene portrays restoration. The LORD's presence is symbolized by a lionlike roar rolling across the land, summoning scattered children back from exile. From the west, from Egypt, and from Assyria, people return trembling yet hopeful, compared to sparrows and doves in their quick, fluttering movement. The image should communicate both majesty and tenderness: a holy summons that causes reverent fear, yet leads to homecoming, settlement, and peace.
