Hosea 1 (vv. 8-11)

After Lo-Ruhamah is weaned, Gomer bears another son, and he is named Lo-Ammi, meaning 'not my people.' This name marks the rupture in covenant identity. Yet the prophecy suddenly opens into vast hope: Israel will become as countless as the sand on the seashore, those once rejected will be called children of the living God, and Judah and Israel will be reunited under one leader. The final vision transforms rejection into restoration and division into gathered unity.
