Description
Joseph settles his father, brothers, and their households in the fertile district of Goshen, the best part of the land as Pharaoh commanded. He provides them with food according to the size of each family, preserving them through the famine. In this place of provision, the Israelites begin to acquire property, flourish, and multiply greatly even while the surrounding world suffers scarcity.
