Description
Joseph brings his aged father Jacob before Pharaoh. In a striking reversal of worldly power, the elderly patriarch blesses the ruler of Egypt. Pharaoh asks Jacob his age, and Jacob answers with weary honesty, describing his 130 years as few and difficult compared with the lives of his fathers. After speaking, Jacob blesses Pharaoh again and departs.
