Genesis 44 (vv. 1-2)

요셉의 집 안에서 요셉은 청지기에게 형제들의 자루를 곡식으로 가득 채우고, 각 사람의 은을 다시 자루 아귀에 넣으며, 요셉의 은잔을 몰래 베냐민의 자루에 넣으라고 조용하지만 분명하게 지시한다. 이 장면은 겉으로는 후한 호의처럼 보이지만 속으로는 시험을 준비하는 순간이기에 긴장감이 감돈다. 요셉은 침착하고 권위 있게 서 있고, 청지기는 자루와 곡식, 은 사이에서 조심스럽고 은밀하게 명령을 수행한다.
