Genesis 41 (vv. 46-57)

After years of abundance, Joseph’s preparations are put to the test as famine spreads across Egypt and beyond. The once-fertile land is now dry and strained, and anxious people gather before the great storehouses Joseph had filled during the plentiful years. Under Joseph’s authority, the granaries are opened and grain is distributed and sold, while people from many lands come seeking life in Egypt. The image captures both the severity of judgment and the mercy of wise provision.
