Description
On Pharaoh’s birthday, a royal feast is held and Joseph’s interpretations come to pass. The chief cupbearer is restored to his place and once again places the cup into Pharaoh’s hand, while the baker meets the fate foretold, suggested through distant judgment rather than graphic display. Yet the final sting of the story lies in the cupbearer’s failure to remember Joseph, leaving Joseph still behind in prison as palace celebration continues far away.
