Description
As the family journeys from Bethel toward Ephrath, Rachel goes into hard labor. In the midst of pain, the midwife encourages her, and Rachel gives birth to another son, naming him Ben-Oni as her life fades; Jacob renames the child Benjamin. Rachel dies on the roadside and is buried there, and Jacob sets up a pillar over her tomb, turning a place of personal heartbreak into a lasting memorial.
