Genesis 32 (vv. 1-2)

As Jacob continues his journey, he is suddenly met by the angels of God. The encounter interrupts the ordinary movement of his caravan and fills the wilderness with a sense of divine nearness. Jacob recognizes that this is no common sight and names the place Mahanaim, declaring it to be the camp of God.

야곱이 길을 계속 가던 중 갑자기 하나님의 사자들을 만난다. 이 만남은 그의 행렬이 이어지던 평범한 여정을 멈추게 하고, 광야 전체를 하나님의 임재로 가득한 공간으로 바꾼다. 야곱은 이것이 결코 흔한 광경이 아님을 알아보고 그곳을 마하나임이라 부르며 하나님의 군대라고 선언한다.
