Genesis 31 (vv. 1-3)

Jacob becomes aware that Laban’s sons are accusing him of taking their father’s wealth, and he sees that Laban’s attitude has turned cold. In the midst of this tension, the LORD directs Jacob to return to the land of his fathers with the promise, 'I will be with you.' This scene captures the turning point where suspicion on earth is met by divine reassurance from above.
