Description
When Jacob’s appointed time is complete, Laban gathers the people for a wedding feast. But in the darkness of evening he brings Leah to Jacob instead of Rachel. Morning light exposes the deception: Jacob discovers Leah beside him and confronts Laban in anguish and outrage. Laban defends the custom of marrying the older daughter first, and Jacob must complete Leah’s bridal week before receiving Rachel also, at the cost of another seven years of labor.
