Genesis 16 (vv. 13-16)

Hagar responds in wonder, naming the LORD as the God who sees her, and the place becomes associated with that revelation. The final movement of the chapter then resolves in the birth of her son, Ishmael, whom Abram names. This scene unites spiritual recognition and earthly fulfillment: Hagar marked by the memory of divine encounter, the well remembered as sacred, and the child’s birth standing as proof that God heard her misery.
