Genesis 13 (vv. 5-7)

As both Abram and Lot increase in flocks, herds, and tents, the land can no longer sustain them together. Tension rises among their herders over grazing land and water, revealing how abundance has become a source of conflict. The presence of the Canaanites and Perizzites in the land adds a sense of pressure and vulnerability, as the family dispute unfolds in a contested land already occupied by others.

아브람과 롯의 양 떼와 소 떼와 장막이 모두 많아지자, 그들이 함께 머물기에는 그 땅이 더 이상 충분하지 않게 된다. 목초지와 물을 두고 양쪽 목자들 사이에 긴장이 높아지며, 풍요가 오히려 갈등의 원인이 되었음이 드러난다. 또한 그 땅에 가나안 사람과 브리스 사람도 살고 있어, 이미 다른 이들이 차지한 땅에서 가족 간 분쟁이 벌어지는 압박감과 불안감이 더해진다.
