Genesis 13 (vv. 1-4)

Abram journeys up from Egypt into the Negev and continues toward Bethel with Sarai, Lot, servants, tents, and abundant livestock. His growing wealth is visible in the size of the caravan and in the precious goods carried with him. When he reaches the place between Bethel and Ai where he had camped before, he returns to the altar he had built earlier and calls on the name of the LORD, turning the journey into an act of remembrance and worship.

아브람은 사래와 롯, 종들, 장막들, 그리고 많은 가축을 이끌고 애굽에서 올라와 네겝을 지나 벧엘로 향한다. 커다란 행렬과 함께 운반되는 귀한 물품들은 그의 커진 부를 보여 준다. 그가 이전에 머물렀던 벧엘과 아이 사이의 장소에 이르자, 전에 쌓았던 제단으로 돌아가 여호와의 이름을 부르며 예배한다. 이 여정은 단순한 이동이 아니라 기억과 예배의 행위가 된다.
