Ezra 10 (vv. 7-15)

A proclamation summons all the exiles to Jerusalem under threat of forfeiture and expulsion. Within three days the men of Judah and Benjamin assemble in the square before the house of God on a cold, rainy day, trembling both because of the matter and the weather. Ezra stands and publicly confronts them with their guilt, calling them to separate from foreign wives, and the assembly responds with a loud voice that his words are right, though they ask for a careful process because of the heavy rain and the scale of the sin.

조서가 내려져 모든 포로 귀환자들은 재산 몰수와 공동체 추방의 위협 아래 예루살렘으로 소집된다. 사흘 안에 유다와 베냐민의 남자들이 차갑고 비 내리는 날 하나님의 성전 앞 광장에 모여, 사건의 중대함과 날씨 때문에 떨고 있다. 에스라는 일어나 그들의 죄를 공개적으로 지적하며 이방 아내들과의 분리를 촉구하고, 온 회중은 그의 말이 옳다고 큰 소리로 응답하지만, 큰 비와 죄의 규모 때문에 신중한 절차가 필요하다고 요청한다.
