Ezekiel 7 (vv. 25-27)

Terror comes, and the people seek peace but find none. Calamity piles upon calamity, rumors multiply, and every source of guidance fails: prophets offer no vision, priests have no instruction, elders have no counsel. In the end the king mourns, the prince is clothed with despair, and the people tremble as the judgment of the LORD is fully recognized.

공포가 임하자 백성은 평화를 찾지만 얻지 못한다. 재앙 위에 재앙이 더해지고 소문이 끊이지 않으며, 모든 인도자의 역할이 무너진다. 선지자는 이상을 주지 못하고, 제사장은 가르침을 잃고, 장로들은 조언을 내놓지 못한다. 마침내 왕은 애통하고, 고관은 절망을 입으며, 백성은 떨면서 여호와의 심판을 분명히 깨닫게 된다.
