Ezekiel 5 (vv. 3-4)

In the midst of judgment, Ezekiel is told to preserve a few hairs by tucking them into the folds of his garment. Yet even from this remnant, some are taken and thrown into the fire, and the flames become a sign that judgment will spread further. The scene balances fragile mercy with the sobering truth that even the remnant is not untouched.

심판 한가운데서도 에스겔은 몇 가닥의 털을 옷자락 folds 속에 감추어 두라는 명령을 받는다. 그러나 그 남은 것 중에서도 일부는 다시 꺼내 불 속에 던져지며, 그 불길은 심판이 더 널리 퍼질 것이라는 표징이 된다. 이 장면은 연약한 자비와 함께 남은 자조차 완전히 안전하지 않다는 엄중한 진실을 함께 보여 준다.
