Description
The inner court gate facing east, normally shut during the six working days, stands open on the Sabbath and New Moon. The prince enters through the portico and pauses beside the gatepost while priests prepare his offerings. At the threshold he bows low in worship, and the people of the land gather at the entrance of the gate to worship before the LORD, whose presence is suggested by radiant holy light from within the temple precincts.
