Ezekiel 44 (vv. 1-3)

Ezekiel is brought back to the outer gate of the sanctuary facing east and finds it firmly shut. The gate remains closed because the LORD, the God of Israel, has entered through it, making it permanently sacred. The only exception is the prince, who may sit within the gateway to eat in the presence of the LORD, entering and leaving by the portico, a vivid sign of reverence, restriction, and royal humility before divine holiness.
