Ezekiel 42 (vv. 15-20)

After the inner structures have been measured, Ezekiel is led out through the east gate while the guide measures the temple area on every side. East, north, south, and west are each marked out with equal precision, and a great surrounding wall is shown to separate the holy from the common. The scene culminates in the powerful visual message that sacred space is defined, protected, and set apart.
