Ezekiel 4 (vv. 1-3)

Ezekiel sits before a large clay tablet and carefully engraves the outline of Jerusalem upon it. Around the miniature city he arranges siege works, camps, ramps, and battering rams as a prophetic enactment of the city's coming downfall. Between himself and the clay city stands an iron pan like a barrier of judgment, while his fixed gaze toward it communicates relentless siege and divine warning to the house of Israel.
