Ezekiel 38 (vv. 14-16)

Gog notices that Israel dwells in safety and comes from the far north with many peoples, all mounted and arrayed as a mighty host. Their advance is compared to a cloud covering the land, an image of overwhelming scale and darkening threat. Yet beneath the military movement lies a deeper reality: God himself is bringing Gog forward so that his holiness may be revealed before the nations.

곡은 이스라엘이 안전하게 사는 것을 보고 북방 끝에서 많은 민족과 함께 내려온다. 그들은 모두 말을 타고 정렬한 거대한 군대로, 그들의 진격은 땅을 덮는 구름에 비유된다. 그러나 이 군사적 이동 아래에는 더 깊은 현실이 있다. 곧 하나님께서 친히 곡을 이끌어 내셔서 열방 앞에서 자신의 거룩함을 드러내시려는 것이다.
