Ezekiel 31 (vv. 18)

The final scene applies the parable directly to Pharaoh. Though he appears splendid among the nations like the trees of Eden, he too will be brought down to the earth below, lying among the slain and the uncircumcised. The image should portray the collapse of imperial self-exaltation and the certainty that no earthly ruler escapes divine judgment.
