Description
The aftermath of Tyre’s fall spreads across the world. Sailors abandon their ships and stand on the shore crying aloud, covering themselves with dust and ashes, shaving their heads, and dressing in sackcloth. Kings and coastlands are appalled, merchants are stunned, and a lament rises over the once-glorious city: who was ever silenced like Tyre in the midst of the sea? The final image is one of stunned mourning and irreversible loss.
