Ezekiel 23 (vv. 1-4)

The allegory opens with two women, Oholah and Oholibah, introduced as daughters of the same mother. Their story begins in Egypt, where their early corruption is remembered, yet they are also identified as belonging to the LORD and bearing children. The scene should communicate both kinship and covenant identity, while foreshadowing their later unfaithfulness.
