Description
Ezekiel is lifted by the Spirit to the east gate of the temple, where twenty-five men stand at the entrance. Among them are Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, prominent leaders of the people. The scene reveals a place meant for holiness now occupied by men who plot evil and speak false confidence over Jerusalem, comparing the city to a protective pot and themselves to meat secure within it. Ezekiel is commanded to prophesy against them.
