Ezekiel 10 (vv. 9-14)

Ezekiel studies the living chariot more closely and sees four sparkling wheels beside the cherubim, gleaming like topaz. Each wheel is intersecting another wheel, able to move in any direction without turning, while the bodies, backs, hands, wings, and wheels are covered with eyes. Each cherub bears four faces—cherub, human, lion, and eagle—forming a vision of terrifying intelligence, vigilance, and unstoppable divine mobility.

에스겔은 살아 있는 병거를 더 자세히 바라보며 그룹들 곁에 있는 네 바퀴를 본다. 그 바퀴들은 황옥처럼 빛나고, 각각 서로 교차하는 바퀴 구조로 되어 있어 방향을 바꾸지 않고도 어느 쪽으로든 움직일 수 있다. 그들의 몸과 등과 손과 날개와 바퀴는 모두 눈으로 가득하며, 각 그룹은 그룹, 사람, 사자, 독수리의 네 얼굴을 지닌다. 이는 두려운 지성과 깨어 있음, 그리고 막을 수 없는 하나님의 이동성을 보여 주는 환상이다.
