Exodus 5 (vv. 1-2)

Moses and Aaron enter Pharaoh’s court and deliver the LORD’s command: 'Let my people go, so that they may hold a festival to me in the wilderness.' Pharaoh responds with contempt and defiance, questioning who the LORD is and refusing to obey. The scene captures the first direct clash between divine authority and imperial power.
