Description
The breastpiece is fashioned as a square, folded pouch of the same rich materials as the ephod. Four rows of precious stones are mounted in gold filigree, each engraved with the name of one of Israel’s tribes, while braided gold chains and blue cords are carefully attached so the breastpiece rests securely over the priest’s heart.
