Exodus 33 (vv. 7-8)

Moses regularly pitches the tent of meeting outside the camp, marking both separation and hope. Whenever he walks toward it, the people rise and stand at the entrances of their own tents, silently watching him until he enters. The distance between the camp and the tent visually expresses the breach caused by sin, yet it also shows that access to the LORD remains possible through the mediator.

모세는 늘 진영 밖에 회막을 치는데, 이것은 분리와 소망을 동시에 드러낸다. 모세가 그곳으로 걸어갈 때마다 백성은 모두 자기 장막 문에 서서 그가 회막에 들어갈 때까지 조용히 바라본다. 진영과 회막 사이의 거리는 죄로 인해 생긴 단절을 시각적으로 보여 주지만, 동시에 중보자를 통해 여전히 여호와께 나아갈 길이 열려 있음을 나타낸다.
