Description
As Moses comes near, God calls his name from within the bush: “Moses! Moses!” Moses answers, and then is warned not to come closer. He removes his sandals because the ground is holy, and when God identifies himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Moses hides his face in fear and reverence, overwhelmed by the nearness of the divine.
