Description
The LORD calls Moses higher up the mountain to receive the stone tablets of law and commandment. Moses departs with Joshua, instructs the elders to wait, and then ascends as the cloud covers Sinai for six days. On the seventh day the LORD calls from within the cloud; to the Israelites below, the glory appears like consuming fire on the summit. Moses finally enters the cloud and remains on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
설명
여호와께서 모세를 더 높은 산으로 부르셔서 율법과 계명이 기록된 돌판을 주시겠다고 하신다. 모세는 여호수아와 함께 떠나기 전에 장로들에게 기다리라고 말하고, 구름이 육 일 동안 시내산을 덮은 가운데 산을 오른다. 일곱째 날 여호와께서 구름 가운데서 부르시고, 산 아래 이스라엘 백성에게는 그 영광이 산꼭대기의 삼키는 불처럼 보인다. 마침내 모세는 그 구름 속으로 들어가 사십 주야를 산 위에 머문다.
