Description
Pharaoh’s daughter comes to the Nile with her attendants and discovers the basket among the reeds. Moved by compassion when she sees the crying Hebrew baby, she accepts the clever intervention of the child’s sister, who brings the baby’s own mother to nurse him; in time the child is adopted into Pharaoh’s household and named Moses, 'drawn out' of the water.
