Description
The Israelites depart from Rameses toward Sukkoth in vast company, carrying kneading troughs wrapped in cloth and unleavened dough prepared in haste. Men, women, children, and many others travel together with flocks and herds, forming a great moving multitude across the Egyptian landscape. The scene presents the fulfillment of God’s promise after 430 years: a people once held in bondage now marching out under the LORD’s vigilant care, beginning a new identity as His redeemed nation.
