Esther 7 (vv. 5-6)

Shocked by Esther’s words, the king demands to know who would dare threaten the queen and her people. Esther turns directly toward Haman and declares him to be the adversary and enemy. In that instant the atmosphere of the banquet changes completely: Esther is resolute, the king is outraged, and Haman is frozen in terror before both throne and truth.

에스더의 말을 듣고 충격을 받은 왕은 감히 왕후와 그 백성을 해치려 한 자가 누구인지 묻는다. 에스더는 하만을 똑바로 향해 그가 바로 대적이요 원수라고 선언한다. 그 순간 연회의 분위기는 완전히 바뀐다. 에스더는 단호하고, 왕은 분노로 들끓으며, 하만은 왕과 진실 앞에서 공포에 얼어붙는다.
