Description
Haman leaves the banquet joyful and proud, elevated by the honor of being invited with the king. But his delight collapses when he sees Mordecai at the king’s gate, still refusing to rise or show fear. Though Haman restrains himself outwardly, he returns home burning with rage, boasting to his wife and friends about his wealth, sons, and status, only to confess that none of it satisfies him while Mordecai remains unbowed.

하만은 왕과 함께 초대받은 영광으로 기뻐하며 잔치에서 나온다. 그러나 왕궁 문에서 모르드개가 여전히 일어나지도 않고 두려워하지도 않는 모습을 보자 그의 기쁨은 무너진다. 겉으로는 분을 참지만, 집에 돌아온 그는 아내와 친구들 앞에서 자신의 재물과 많은 아들들, 높은 지위를 자랑하면서도, 모르드개가 굴복하지 않는 한 이 모든 것이 아무 만족도 주지 못한다고 털어놓는다.
