Esther 2 (vv. 19-23)

While Mordecai sits at the king's gate, two royal officers guarding the entrance become enraged and conspire to assassinate King Xerxes. Mordecai learns of the plot and relays the warning through Queen Esther, who reports it to the king and gives Mordecai credit. The conspiracy is investigated, proven true, and recorded in the royal annals, quietly preparing for a future turning point.

모르드개가 왕문에 앉아 있을 때, 왕의 문을 지키던 두 관리가 분노하여 크세르크세스 왕을 암살하려는 음모를 꾸민다. 모르드개는 그 계획을 알아차리고 에스더 왕비에게 알리며, 에스더는 모르드개의 이름을 밝히며 왕에게 보고한다. 그 음모는 조사 끝에 사실로 드러나고 왕의 역사책에 기록되며, 훗날 중요한 전환점을 준비하게 된다.
