Ecclesiastes 9 (vv. 13-18)

A small city under siege is saved not by military strength but by the insight of a poor, wise man. He stands quietly near the gate or council place, offering counsel while a powerful king’s siege works loom outside the walls. Though his wisdom delivers the city, he remains overlooked and unhonored afterward. The scene highlights the paradox that wisdom is greater than weapons, yet the wise poor are often ignored and forgotten.
